Basant Kumar Goswami (Chairman)

Mr. B K Goswami is a renowned Tourism Consultant, and was instrumental in formulating the National Tourism Policy. He is also the architect of several innovative schemes in tourism. He is the former Secretary and Director General of Tourism, Government of India.







E.M. Najeeb (Vice Chairman and Travel & Tourism Expert)

Mr. E M Najeeb is one of the most successful entrepreneurs and eminent professionals in the travel and tourism industry in Kerala. His ability to mould the Airtravel Enterprises Group into a flourishing business conglomerate speaks volumes of his vision, strategic planning and determination. He is the Chairman of ATE Group of companies consisting of companies that handle a range of business from Air Travel, Cargo movement, Tourism, Tourism Transport, Tourism Publication, Advertising, Real Estate, Event Management, Consultancy Services ,Health Care Management to Information Technology, Consultancy, Event Management , Human Resource Consultancy to Construction. He is a graduate in English Literature from Kerala University, a post graduate diploma in Journalism from Bhavan.s and a MBA from New Port University,USA.



Rajan Thomas Verghese (Director & Tourism Marketing Expert)

Mr. Rajan Thomas Verghese has experience of over 25 years in the Travel and Tourism industry and specialises in Tourism Management. He has qualified in Tourism Management from the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management, Gwalior. He was instrumental in tailoring innovative Tourism Products and their Marketing in Kerala. Mr. Rajan Thomas Vargheese is leading the Tourism Marketing Division of GITPAC.






A. Kasthuri Rangan 

Mr. Kasturi Rangan is an Architect Planner with more than 35 years of experience in urban & regional planning, tourism planning, urban administration/governance, Municipal affairs and other related areas. He has undergone a course on Urban Land Use Planning in the University of London. Mr. Kasturi Rangan worked as Chief Town Planner in the Department of Town and Country Planning, Government of Kerala. He has also served as Member .Secretary of the Thiruvananthapuram Development Authority and as Member of the Board of the Kerala State Housing Board (KSHB), the Kerala Urban Development Finance Corporation (KUDFC) and the Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA). During his carrier he attended to Planning Schemes like Preparation of City Development Plans (CDP) for Thiruvananthapuram Capital Region and for Kollam City, Thiruvananthapuram City Roads Improvement Project, Perspective Plan for Cochin Region, Kerala Urban Development Project (World Bank funded), Comprehensive Urban Slums Improvement Project Report for Kerala (2008), Town Development Plans for Alappuzha, Kayamkulam and Varkala, Vision Document for Chittur Thathamangalam town etc. He has extensive experience in formulating Urban Development strategies, preparation of policy documents, development of land use plans, Area Development Schemes, Urban Development and rural development projects etc. He also has working experience in a few Tourism Development projects and prioritisation and formulation of Urban Development Projects. Mr. Kasthuri Rangan has good knowledge on the Kannur and Pathanamthitta districts as he was deeply involved in preperation of master plans and area development schemes of districts.



Dr.M.Baba 

A renowned and accomplished scientist of international reputation, Dr. M. Baba, has adorned many coveted positions and was member of technical committees and expert panels nationally and internationally. Dr. Baba has retired from service as the director of Centre for Earth Science Studies, Thiruvananthapuram. Oceanography, Environment and Ocean Engineering comprises of his expert domains and are he maintains special interest towards areas like Climate Change, Ocean/ Coastal management and Micro level Planning. Currently he leads the environment planning and management division of GITPAC.




Dr.Ravindran Govindan 

Dr.Ravindran Govindan, has joined the Indian Statistical Service (ISS) in 1971 after securing first rank in the all India competitive examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Since then he has worked as a professional statistician in the Government of India till April, 2009. His initial posting was in the Department of Statistics and was responsible for organising nation wide surveys on various aspects of Indian economy. During the period from 1978-1983, He was in-charge of Statistics/Planning Departments of Small Industries Development Organisation and was responsible for organising several statistical studies on small scale industries. From December 1988 to 21, March 1999, he has worked as the Head of the Market Research Division of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Thus he was the Statistician and planning expert of the Government in the field of Tourism. In this capacity, He has made significant contributions in all aspects of tourism development in the country including preparation of national policies, strategies and programmes, preparing development plans and its implementation, formulation and monitoring of marketing strategies, human resource development, evolving guidelines for promoting public-private sector partnership, undertaking market research, database creation, etc. He has also made valuable contributions to different international agencies in the field of Tourism. The Handbook on .Measurement of Domestic Tourism. prepared for the World Tourism Organisation has been published as a UN manual. During his tenure in the National Sample Survey Organisation and Central Statistical Organisation at senior levels during March 1999 to 30thJune 2005, he has made significant contributions in co-ordinating the activities of the National Statistical Commission, implementing its recommendations and initiating the India Statistical Strengthening Project for strengthening the Central and State Statistical Systems. After his retirement from the post of Additional Director General, Central Statistical Organisation (CSO), he joined the .National Commission for Un-Organised Sector. as .Consultant. and made significant contributions in defining the Unorganised/Informal Sector and Informal Employment, measuring the contribution of the informal sector to the economy, studying the characteristics and pattern of change in labour force over the years, employment growth in different sectors and projecting state-wise and sector-wise labour force by age and sex till the end of 12th Plan.




P.M.Pareethu Bava Khan

An experienced professional in planning, rural and urban development, training and action research associated with several projects of national importance, Mr.P. M. Pareethu Bava Khan, was also the Former Additional Development Commissioner and Director, State Institute of Rural Development, Kerala. He holds a postgraduate degree in Agriculture. He has also taken a special international course on District Development Planning under Colombo Plan Training from the University of Nottingham, U.K, British Government as a part of Technical Co-operation Programme. His subiect areas were in District Planning for Developing Countries, Rural Development, Advance Practice and Management, Project Appraisal and Field Study. Previous assignments include being private secretary to the minister for rural development, Khadi and Village Industries and Registration, Government of Kerala 2001-2006. He was the Director for State Institute of Rural Development [SIRD], Kottarakkara, kerala 1999-2001. He was also Executive Director, CIRUS, Kerala and as Director, State Institute of Rural Development [SIRD], Kottarakkara, Kerala 1999-2001, he was also chief of the institute engaged in Policy and Action Research. His areas of specialization are Sustainable Rural Development Delivery, Capacity Building for Rural Development, Administrative Management in Government, Watershed Management, Women’s Empowerment and Development



A.R.Anil Kumar (Senior Consultant, Urban and Rural and Development Planning)

Experienced Urban Planner who has vast experience in the field of preparation of Master Plan detailed Town Planning schemes and detailed Project Report (DPR) for various infrastructural development projects. He was a National Consultant to Asian Development Bank (ADB)as Costal Land Use Specialist for shore line protection and Management Project for Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka. He was also a Town Planner with 15 years experience in Kerala State Government. He has prepared conceptual plan and implementation plan for PURA (Providing Urban Amenities to Rural Areas), one of the prestigeous project propagated by the former President of India, Dr. APJ.Abdul Kalam. He is a Civil Engineer with Post Graduate (M.Plan) in Urban Planning from School of Planning and Architecture (New Delhi). He also designed and formulated development plans with the Management strategy and site specific intervention measures by undertaking thorough stake holder and Local Community and their interests. He is also effective in presentation skills in the workshops and discussions with relevant government officials and other stake holders to develop strengthen and define the objectives scope and implementations of projects. Mr. Anilkumar was involved in preparation of master plans of the towns in Kannur and Pathanamthitta and has grass roof level knowledge on the districts.




Rupesh Kumar 

Mr. Rupesh Kumar is a sociologist having experience in more than 15 years. He is an expert in Formulating community development plans and social development initiatives. He is an MPhil in Social Science and Master of Gandhian Studies.He monitors Self helping groups(SHG) across the country.He is pro in Field level implementation of MGNREGA.He has participated in Various International conferences and presented various papers on Community development. He is the State Level Coordinator for Responsible Tourism initiative of Kerala Tourism. His contributions were instrumental for securing the National Award for Best Responsible Tourism initiaves in India for the year 2008-09. As a part of Responsible Tourism initiatuives, he has introduced Community Based Tourism Products, Village Life Experience Packages,Festival Calendar, Directory, Resource Mapping Process.




Devavrathan S. 

Devavrathan is a qualified Geographer who specializes in Spatial Analysis, Travel Writings, Nature Photography, Disaster Management and Tourism Planning. He is a Post Graduate in Applied Geography from University of Madras. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Disaster Management. He has specialized in Advanced Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing. He has more than 6 years experience in Geographical Information System (GIS), Remote Sensing and Regional Planning, 2 years of experience in Tourism Planning and disaster management. After graduating in Geography from the University of Madras, he worked for the Gulf of Mannar Marine National Park (Tamil Nadu Forest Department) where he was involved in the Management Plan Preparation. He took the lead in creation of a Digital Resource Atlas for Thiruvananthapuram District, one of the major projects of the Resources Analysis Division, Centre for Earth Science Studies. He worked as Project Scientist for the Investment Proposal preparation for the National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Programme, a prestigious project of the Institute of Land and Disaster Management (ILDM). He was actively involved with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under the Disaster Risk Mitigation Programme (DRM) for building a disaster inventory for the State of Kerala. He has presented research papers in various International Seminars and has got many publications to his credit. He is presently working as Geographic Analyst (GIS) in GITPAC.




Santhosh K.B. 

Mr.Santhosh K.B has a Masters Degree in Geoinformatics from Annamalai University, Masters Degree in Sociology from Kerala University and PGDCA from IHRD, Trivandrum. He has more than 10 years of experience in Geographical Information System (GIS) and regional planning. He was the team leader for many important GIS Projects for IKM, Soil Survey and GAIA Info System(a GIS company in Kerala). He has hands on experience in many of the GIS/Remote Sensing software and has mastered ArcGIS for many projects. He has actively contributed and participated in various projects related to tourism and relevant segments. He is presently working with GITPAC International as GIS Specialist





Martin M.E. 

Mr. Martin is a Post Graduate in Commerce from Calicut University and also has done PGDBA from LBS Centre for Science and Technology. He worked as a Data Analyst with Kudumbashree and Administrative Assistant cum Associate with Modernizing Government Programme. He is associated with Responsible Tourism Initiatives as a Project Associate. Currently he holds the position of Admin Executive cum Project Associate with GITPAC.





Soumya Ranjan Biswal 

Post Graduate in Political Science from Utkal University, Orissa, Soumya has ten years of experience in the field of electronic media, advertising and market research. Before joining GITPAC , he was working as a producer for six years in ETV News, Hyderabad, the oldest and leading satellite broadcasting house in Andhra Pradesh. He is also a diploma holder in Journalism and Mass Communication. At present he is working as Consultant in GITPAC,s head office at Trivandrum.





Rejith P. 

Rejith P, a post graduate in Statistics is Data Analyst, Statistician and Project Associate to GITPAC International since 01/09/2010. His area of expertise is in making sampling frames, deciding methods of sampling with respect to survey situations, creating questionnaire for surveys, monitoring field work and data collection, data entry format in any data base software, scrutiny of schedules, managing data entry process, selection of suitable statistical analysis to be used to infer or predict the result of the survey. He has submitted a paper on 'Statistical study on Rubber farming in Kerala as part of his PG programme.







M Prabhakaran 

He has over 30 years of service in the Economics and Statistics Department of Kerala State from where he has retired as Assistant Director. Basically he is a graduate in Mathematics. He took his Post Graduation in Economics and MBA from IGNOU with specialization in Human Resource Management. While in Government service, he worked in the Police Department for six years as statistical officer acquiring in depth knowledge in crime analysis. He was in the Irrigation Department for four years and was associated with the work of post facto evaluation studies on major irrigation projects of the State. He has also worked as Research officer in the department of Economics and Statistics (Surveys and Design wing) from where he specialized in project report preparations for adhoc surveys and execution. He has also had training in the ‘Management of Police IT Systems’ from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Ministry of Home Affairs New Delhi.


Manu Jose 

Manu Jose is a Post Graduate in Business Administration from Anna University, Coimbatore. His specializations include Marketing, Human Resources Management, Development of Tourism Packages and circuits besides his skills in conducting stake holder meetings and field level coordination. He is presently working with GITPAC International in the capacity of Project Associate. He is in charge of one of the prestigious ongoing projects of GITPAC by the name “SAPARYA” which is a participatory initiative of the Tourism Department, Government of Kerala. .
